The New Scientist website has an article explaining that a common objective of many environmentalists is to enforce population control and selective breeding.

All four major global temperature tracking outlets (Hadley, NASA's GISS, UAH, RSS) have released updated data which show that over the past year, global temperatures have dropped nearly as much as they have risen over the last 100 years . Scientists link the cooling to reduced solar activity which they claim is a much larger driver of climate change than man-made greenhouse gases.

A scientist working in Russia's Oceanology Institute says that they earth is currently at the peak of a natural recurring warm cycle which began in the 17th century (long before industrialization). He predicts that a cold spell could set in as soon as 2012 and that the world will get much colder when solar activity reaches its minimum point in 2041.

According to the Washington Times, 2007 should be named the Year of Global Cooling with "record low temperatures are being set all over the world." A few of the records from article include: Antarctica is getting colder, South America experienced one of its coldest winters in decades, Buenos Aires had snow for the first time since 1918, Johannesburg, South Africa, had the first significant snowfall in 26 years, and the city of Townsville in northeastern Australia experienced the longest period of continuously cold weather since 1941.

According to a US Senate report, over 400 prominent scientists "voiced significant objections to major aspects of the so-called 'consensus' on man-made global warming" in 2007. It's very unfortunate that prominent figures attempt to quash all scientific voices that don't match with their doomsday viewpoints. This is, of course, contrary to the Scientific Method of continually seeking more observable data to further test existing hypothesis.
